Embracing Wellness, One Step at a Time
For as long as I can remember, my health has been a deeply personal journey—one filled with highs, lows, and countless lessons. Recently, I made the decision to prioritize my health, not just for aesthetics, but for my overall well-being. This is my story of transformation, one step, one meal, and one mindset shift at a time.
Starting Point: My Why
When I started this journey, I weighed 156 lbs at 5’6″. More than the number on the scale, I felt sluggish, fatigued, weighed down and had constant gut issues. By no means do I think my weight at this height is unhealthy but I know I did not feel my best. I knew I wanted to feel stronger, more energized, and more confident in my body.
My Approach to Weight Loss
Rather than chasing quick fixes, I committed to a sustainable, balanced approach that works for me. Here’s what my plan looks like:
- Nutrition: I’ve focused on eating whole foods and avoiding processed foods, sugar and alcohol, making sure I nourish my body while still enjoying the foods I love.
- Exercise: My workout routine includes twice a week of reformer Pilates, which has not only helped me lose weight and tone my body in the places I need but also improved my mood and confidence.
- Mindset & Habits: Weight loss isn’t just about physical changes—it’s also about mental shifts. I’ve been practicing mindful eating, proper mental health with weekly therapy sessions, and finally daily affirmations and manifestations to keep my mindset strong and motivated.
Progress & Wins So Far
Since starting, I’ve lost 15 lbs, but more importantly, I’ve gained better skin (I’ll make a post about my skin journey soon too), less bloating and more energy. I’m learning to appreciate my body at every stage, celebrating small wins along the way.
Challenges & Lessons Learned
This journey hasn’t been perfect. There have been days where I’ve felt frustrated or tempted to give up. One of my biggest challenges has been being consistent even when friends want to go out and not falling off the wagon, but I’ve learned to overcome it by shifting my mindset and learning to not be too hard on myself. Weight loss doesn’t have to be a straight line and sometimes you will slip. However, just understand that you can get right back on your journey the next day and don’t give up.
Where I’m Headed Next
I’m still on this journey, and I know that transformation takes time. My next goal is to reach 135lbs, be able to fit into my old clothes and become even more active, and I’m excited to keep pushing myself while showing grace along the way.
If you’re on your own weight loss journey, know that you’re not alone. Every step, no matter how small, brings you closer to your goals. Let’s continue glowing together! ✨ I plan on writing weekly blogs along the journey and sharing with you all my journey to my final goals.
